Older men risk having sick newborns

American scientists have observed that man over 40′s present a higher risk in conceiving a child with congenital malformations.
The explanation consist that after a certain age men are more likely to develop testicular tumors that can  cause severe genetic malformations.
This tumors are like moles: they accumulate in time but they are inoffensive for the man. Nevertheless, professor Andrew Wilkes (study coordinator) states that  due to their testicular localization, the small tumors affect sperm quality and determine congenital malformations in newborns.

British specialists consider that the father’s presence in the delivery room is not as beneficial for women as initially thought. Fathers transmit to future mothers tension and anxiety, therefore their bodies produce high amount of adrenaline. This hormone inhibits the secretion of oxytocin, a very important hormone during labor that induces contractions. Without oxytocin the woman has to endure a longer, more painful and difficult labor that may rise complications. Vaccine inhibiting the need to do drugs

American scientists from Yale University have developed the first vaccine against cocaine dependence. Until now the vaccine was tested on 60 drugs consumer volunteers, the results being compared to the ones obtained from another group that was treated with a placebo vaccine. For the first group, scientists observed a 50% reduction in the quantity of cocaine consumed after 12 weeks from inoculation. More specific, the vaccine introduces larger cocaine molecules in the body, more easily recognized by the central system.
