Male contraceptive will allow men to share responsibility for family planning

Women could escape the burden of family planning by sharing responsibility with their partner. Although it’s not really a pill but an injection, the male contraceptive has  99% efficiency. Also the man are not to worry because after the injections stop the sperm count will return to normal.

Running barefoot could be healthier

Jogging is considered the perfect exercise because it’s simple and it only requires the right shoes. Now, a group of runners claim that they don’t need any shoes because running barefoot is healthier.
The runners say barefoot running was practiced since antiquity and that members of some tribes in Mexico used to run hundreds of miles with just sandals on their feet without suffering any injuries. Stroke linked to low level of antibodies

Researchers from Karolinksa Institutet conducted a study which shows that the presence of a certain type of antibody in the immune system could lead to a stroke. They hope to be able to develop a vaccine that can mobilise the body´s own defence against arteriosclerosis and stroke.
The study focused exclusively on stroke and compared 227 individuals who had suffered stroke over a 13-year period with 445 sex and age-matched controls. The study showed that low levels of PC antibodies correlated to a higher risk of stroke.

Mixing alcohol and energy drinks leads to risky behaviors

Because more and more young people mix alcohol with energy drinks, researchers from University of Florida studied this phenomenon to see how popular it is and whether it’s dangerous or not.
After surveying 800 students returning from clubs between 10 pm and 3am, the researchers found that those who left the club later were the ones that mixed alcohol with energy drinks. Also they had the more alcohol in their blood and were more likely to drive a car within the hour
